ISLAMABAD: Justice Syed Hasan Azhar Rizvi took the oath as the Acting Chief Justice of the Federal Constitutional Court (FCC), as Chief Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan has left for a foreign visit.
In this connection, a dignified oath-taking ceremony was held on Friday at the FCC, where Justice Aamer Farooq administered the oath.
The ceremony was attended by the FCC judges, Registrar, officers of the Court, as well as representatives and office-bearers of the Ministry of Law, the Pakistan Bar Council and the Supreme Court Bar Association.
Following the oath-taking ceremony, Justice Hasan assumed the responsibilities of the office of Acting Chief Justice to ensure continuity in the judicial and administrative functioning of the Court and the uninterrupted, effective and timely dispensation of constitutional justice.
The arrangement reflects the Federal Constitutional Court of Pakistan’s commitment to institutional continuity, constitutional governance, the uninterrupted discharge of judicial responsibilities and the rule of law. The Court shall continue to discharge its constitutional and legal obligations in furtherance of the supremacy of the Constitution and the effective administration of constitutional justice.
