ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister (DPM/FM) Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Thursday chaired a meeting to discuss ways to strengthen trade and economic engagement with friendly countries, particularly with the European Union (EU).
The meeting discussed ways to accelerate trade and economic partnerships with friendly countries, including improving market access, export performance, and coordination among relevant stakeholders. The DPM/FM stressed the importance of effective follow-up on commitments and conventions under the GSP+ framework.
The DPM/FM directed all concerned to accord priority to enhancing Pakistan’s trade and export performance, ensuring timely implementation of agreed measures, and strengthening coordination to maximise market access and economic opportunities for Pakistan.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of Commerce, SAPM Tariq Bajwa, Federal Secretary of Foreign Affairs Amna Baloch, Federal Secretaries of Commerce and Interior, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Brussels, Chairman CDA, and federal and provincial senior officials from concerned ministries and departments.
