ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has generated Rs16.44 billion through the sale of commercial plots during the first two days of its three-day public auction in Islamabad, with officials saying the proceeds will be utilised for infrastructure development, mega projects and improvement of civic services in the federal capital.
According to the CDA, commercial properties worth Rs2.63 billion were auctioned on the second day, taking the cumulative proceeds to Rs16.44 billion after the first day’s collection of Rs13.81 billion.
Among the major sales on Wednesday, Agro Farm No. 18 on Murree Road fetched Rs1.212 billion, while Agro Farm No. 17-A was auctioned for Rs966 million.
The authority also auctioned three constructed shops in the Blue Area Parking Plaza. Shop No. 8-A was sold for Rs151.66 million, Shop No. 10-A for Rs147.71 million, and Shop No. 12-A for Rs153.63 million.
The three-day auction will conclude on August 6 at the Jinnah Convention Centre.
Chairman of the Auction Committee Muhammad Umair said the revenue generated from the auction would be spent on upgrading Islamabad’s infrastructure, completing mega development projects, addressing long-standing civic issues, improving municipal services and tackling water-related problems.
He said all bids received during the auction would undergo detailed scrutiny before being placed before the CDA Board, which is authorised to approve or reject them.
Umair also thanked investors for their participation and reiterated the CDA’s commitment to improving civic amenities, strengthening infrastructure and promoting the capital’s development.
