Blue Dart Express first quarter profit rises on strong volumes
- Blue Dart says it continues to drive business momentum through strong service quality and efficient network operations
Indian delivery firm Blue Dart Express on Friday reported a 81% jump in first-quarter net profit as shipments remained strong.
The company’s consolidated net profit for the quarter ended June 30 increased to 884.9 million rupees ($9.28 million) from 488.3 million a year earlier amid a 15% rise in revenue from operations.
Bluedart, a part of the German logistics giant DHL Group, was helped by cost control measures despite pressures from increased aviation and ground fuel costs, a key expenditure for the company
The results underscore the impact of a challenging macroeconomic environment, but Blue Dart said it continued to drive business momentum through strong service quality and efficient network operations.
The Indian logistics sector remains highly competitive, with Bluedart facing pressure on pricing and market share from rivals including Delivery and a fragmented market of smaller players.
