The Sindh government has restored a six-day working week for all public and private educational institutions under the School Education and Literacy Department, with the new schedule taking effect from August 1, 2026.
According to a notification issued by the School Education and Literacy Department on Wednesday, all schools under its administrative control will observe classes from Monday to Saturday until further orders.
The notification supersedes an earlier order issued on March 31, 2026, which had prescribed a different weekly schedule.
The department directed all Directors of School Education and the Director of Inspection and Registration of Private Institutions to circulate the notification among public and private schools for immediate implementation.
The notification was also forwarded to the Press and Information Department for wider public dissemination through print and electronic media.
