Clover Pakistan enters EV charging business

  • Clover Pakistan has been appointed as the exclusive distributor and stockist for Pakistan for CITA-UK
Published Updated

Clover Pakistan Limited (CPL), a subsidiary of Fossil Energy (Private) Limited, has entered Pakistan’s growing electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure market through a partnership with UK-based CITA-UK.

The listed company disclosed the development in a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Wednesday.

“We are pleased to inform you that Clover Pakistan Limited has successfully negotiated and signed an agreement with CITA-UK,” read the notice.

Under the terms of the agreement, CPL has been appointed as the exclusive distributor and stockist for Pakistan for CITA-UK’s range of EV chargers, accessories, and related equipment.

CPL informed that CITA-UK is a globally recognised supplier specialising in smart EV charging solutions and infrastructure.

Sindh to establish EV charging networks across province

“This strategic partnership aligns with the company’s commitment to expanding its business footprint and entering high-growth green energy and sustainable technology sectors in Pakistan,” it added.

Clover Pakistan Limited was incorporated in Pakistan as a publicly listed company in 1986.

In 2025, the company transitioned its core line of business from food products to petroleum products. The company is now engaged in selling, trading, and marketing all kinds of petroleum and petroleum products, oil, gas, hydrocarbons, petrochemicals, asphalt, and bituminous substances.

The latest development is in line with the government agenda, which has pushed for promotion and local manufacturing of EVs in the country to address climate change and reduce fuel import bills.

Days ago, Chinese auto giant BYD’s Pakistan venture said its $150 million assembly plant in Gharo, Sindh, is in “final stages”, and the company has ramped up efforts to bring the country’s first locally assembled BYD vehicle on the road “at the earliest”.
