Govt increases diesel price by Rs3.37, cuts petrol's by Re1 per litre

The federal government has increased High Speed Diesel prices by Rs 3.37 per litre while decreasing petrol prices by Re 1, effective July 28, impacting various sectors.

The federal government raised on Monday the price of High Speed Diesel (HSD) by Rs3.37 per litre while reducing the price of Motor Spirit (petrol) by Re1 per litre for Tuesday, July 28.
According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Energy’s Petroleum Division on Monday, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) revised the ex-depot prices of petroleum products in line with the revised petroleum pricing mechanism notified by the federal government.
With the new adjustment, HSD will now be sold at Rs386.83 per litre, up from Rs383.46 per litre. Petrol, on the other hand, will become slightly cheaper, dropping from Rs335.18 to Rs334.18 per litre.
The revised prices will remain applicable for Tuesday and will be reviewed again as per the government’s pricing mechanism.
In the previous review on Saturday, the government kept the prices of petrol and HSD unchanged for July 26 and 27, maintaining them at Rs335.18 and Rs383.46 per litre, respectively.
