KARACHI: Trading activity at the Pakistan Stock Exchange’s futures counter remained mixed during the week ended July 24, 2026.
The futures spread turned negative during the week, plunging by 1,093 basis points to negative 1.82 percent from a positive 9.11 percent recorded in the previous week, reflecting increased caution in leveraged positions amid the continued decline in the equity market.
Average Daily Turnover (ADTO) in the futures market rose 8.6 percent to 185.38 million shares, compared with 170.78 million shares in the preceding week.
However, the average daily traded value declined 4.1 percent to Rs7.76 billion from Rs8.09 billion, indicating relatively lower value-based activity despite higher trading volumes.
Market analysts said the sharp reversal of the futures spread into negative territory reflected heightened risk aversion among market participants.
