ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has endorsed the convening of an All Parties Conference (APC) on the security situation in Balochistan, saying that political dialogue remains the only viable solution to the province’s challenges.

Bilawal made these remarks during a meeting with Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti at Zardari House here on Saturday.

The Chief Minister briefed Bilawal Bhutto on the province’s administrative, political and security situation, including the recent wave of terrorist incidents.

According to the briefing, the Balochistan government has taken steps to address the concerns of the families affected by the Ziarat tragedy and has played an active role in meeting their demands. Bugti informed Bilawal that a judicial commission has been constituted to investigate the incident following the request of the victims’ families.

The Chief Minister also told the PPP chairman that an All Parties Conference (APC) would soon be convened to deliberate on restoring peace in Balochistan.

He said the conference would include not only parliamentary political parties but also parties outside parliament to ensure broad-based political consensus.

Bilawal paid tribute to the soldiers of the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps and police who embraced martyrdom in the recent wave of terrorism. He said he could understand the pain of the families who had lost their loved ones in the attacks.

He commended the Balochistan government for its efforts to provide relief to the victims’ families and acknowledged its role in advancing the dialogue process. Bilawal also thanked opposition parties for their constructive contribution to making the negotiations successful.

Reiterating the PPP’s position, Bilawal said that dialogue was the only solution to Balochistan’s political issues, adding that his party believed in engaging all political forces, whether in government or in the opposition.

He said the PPP’s stance against terrorism had remained clear from the outset and vowed that the party would continue to stand “like a wall of steel” against terrorism.
