Turkiye opens sunflower seed, crude sunflower oil import quota

ISTANBUL: Turkiye has opened a tariff quota for imports of oilseed sunflower seeds and crude sunflower oil, the Official Gazette on Saturday.

Under the decision, imports of oilseed sunflower seeds will be subject to a 0% customs duty and crude sunflower oil to a 20% duty within the quota.

Sunflower ready for harvest

The quota will cover up to 1.25 million metric tons of sunflower seeds or the equivalent of 500,000 tons of crude sunflower oil during the Jan 11-May 31, 2027 period.
