PPP leader shot dead at Upper Swat funeral

SWAT: Samiullah Khan, a leader of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) was gunned down in Upper Swat when unidentified gunmen opened indiscriminate firing on a gathering offering funeral prayers on Saturday.

The incident took place in the Matta area of Upper Swat. Sources said that some of the accused opened fire on Samiullah Khan, who died on the spot, while a person who was standing beside him received serious injuries during the Namaz-e-Janaza.

Samiullah Khan was an active and fire-brand leader of the Pakistan People’s Party in Swat. A wave of fear and sorrow gripped the area.

Soon after receiving the report, a police team rushed to the spot and started an investigation.
