KYIV: Ukrainian grain exports fell 8.4percent to 37.2 million metric tons in the 2025/26 July-June season from 40.6 million tons in 2024/25, the deputy economy minister told Reuters on Friday. Ukraine is a major grain grower and exporter. However, the country faced a decline in both grain production and exports after Russia occupied or mined a significant part of the country’s territory.
The economy ministry later added that the export of wheat had fallen to 14.1 million tons in 2025/26, from 15.7 million tons in 2024/25, while corn exports slipped to 21.3 million tons from 21.9 million tons.
Combined wheat and corn exports traditionally account for about 95percent of total Ukrainian grain exports.
