Interior minister Naqvi meets Acting Makkah Governor, vows stronger Pakistan-Saudi ties

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met Acting Governor of the Makkah Region Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz in Jeddah on Friday, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening its longstanding ties with Saudi Arabia.

Governor of Jeddah Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jalawi, Governor of Taif Prince Saud bin Nahar bin Saud, and members of the Saudi royal family were also present during the meeting, according to an official statement.

Naqvi said Pakistan highly values its historic and brotherly relationship with the Kingdom and remains committed to expanding bilateral cooperation across various sectors.

The interior minister also thanked the Acting Governor of the Makkah Region for the excellent arrangements made for Pakistani Umrah and Hajj pilgrims, appreciating the facilities and services extended by the Saudi authorities.

Prince Saud bin Mishaal reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s strong commitment to its relations with Pakistan and assured every possible cooperation to further deepen bilateral ties.

During the meeting, the Acting Governor welcomed the recent agreement between the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Saudi Arabia Cricket Federation, calling it a positive step for promoting cricket in the Kingdom.

He also appreciated the decision to construct Jeddah’s first international-standard cricket stadium and expressed full support for the project, assuring the Saudi authorities’ cooperation with the PCB in developing the facility.

The meeting underscored the close strategic partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and the two sides’ shared commitment to enhancing cooperation in religious, sporting and other fields.
