Sri Lankan shares edge lower as losses outweigh healthcare gains

Sri Lankan shares closed slightly lower on Thursday, as losses across most sectors outweighed gains in healthcare and communication services.
The CSE All Share index settled down 0.1% at 22,221.91, falling for the third straight day.
Industrial Asphalts and SMB Finance PLC were the top percentage losers on the CSE All Share index, falling 16.7% and 10%, respectively.
Trading volume on the CSE All Share index rose to 47.4 million shares from 35.2 million in the previous session.
The equity market’s turnover rose to 1.52 billion Sri Lankan rupees ($4.53 million) from 1.07 billion rupees in the previous session, according to exchange data.
Foreign investors were net sellers, offloading stocks worth 786.7 million rupees, while domestic investors were net buyers, purchasing shares worth 1.5 billion rupees, the data showed.
