PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority (KPRA)organized a farewell gathering in honour of its outgoing Advisor of Tax Enforcement, Fazal Amin Shah, and Director Legal, Tax Policy and Reforms, Irfanullah Mehsud, while also welcoming the newly posted Director of Finance, Hina Hafeez.
Addressing the gathering, the Director-General of the KPRA, Irum Naz thanked Fazal Amin Shah and Irfanullah Mehsud for attending the event and acknowledged their valuable services to the authority.
Sharing her professional experience of working with both the officials, she praised their dedication and significant contributions towards strengthening KPRA and transforming it into the premier tax collection organisation of the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
She paid tribute to their services and wished them success in their future endeavours.
Speaking on the occasion, Fazal Amin Shah recalled his association with KPRAsince its inception in 2013, when his services were requisitioned from the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) following the establishment of KPRA under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Finance Act, 2013.
He highlighted the milestones in the authority’s journey, including the transfer of its administrative control from the Excise Taxation And Narcotics Control Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to the Finance Department of the province, the assignment of Infrastructure Development Cess collection to the KPRA, and the enactment of major legislation such as the KPRA Act, 2022, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sales Tax on Services Act, 2022, and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Infrastructure Development Cess Act, 2022.
He also shed light on the contributions of KPRA officers and development partners in building the institution, and discussed important court cases decided in KPRA’s favour, as well as the Authority’s efforts in establishing and safeguarding its tax administration mandate.
Irfanullah Mehsud thanked the Director-General for arranging the farewell gathering and share his experience at KPRA. He remarked that his tenure provided a unique opportunity to work for revenue generation and resource mobilization for the government.
He noted that his experience of representing KPRA in cases before the Peshawar High Court would greatly benefit him in his future assignments.
The Director of ICT, Aftab Ahmad, and the Director of Inquiry, Investigation and Tax Audit, Pir Muhammad, also shared their experiences of working with the outgoing officers and appreciated their professional contributions to the organisation.
Speaking on the occasion, Naimatullah, Director Legal, Tax Policy and Reforms, appreciated KPRA’s tradition of organizing farewell gatherings for outgoing officers whilewarmly welcoming newly inducted members of the organization.
He expressed his commitment to contributing towards the continued growth and success of the KPRA.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of commemorative shields to the outgoing officers in recognition of their dedicated services to the Authority.
