LAHORE: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has intensified its enforcement campaign, sealing 128 commercial establishments, including private schools, restaurants, and clinics, across multiple high-profile localities.
Acting under the directives of LDA DG Tahir Farooq, the Authority’s Town Planning Wing mobilised separate teams to crack down on illegal commercial conversions and commercial fee defaulters.
The teams targeted LDA-controlled areas, including Gulberg, New Garden Town, Johar Town, Gulshan Ravi, and GT Road. During the operation against illegal commercial use, 39 properties were sealed on Gulshan Ravi and GT Road.
In the Gulberg and New Garden Town schemes, 24 properties were sealed due to non-payment of commercial fees. Additionally, in Johar Town, 35 illegal commercial shops were sealed, along with 30 properties in Sabzazar.
The sealed properties included private schools, restaurants, food points, beauty salons, clinics, grocery stores, bakeries, pharmacies, auto workshops, and offices. The operation was supervised by Chief Town Planner One Asad-uz-Zaman and Chief Town Planner Two Azhar Ali.
