LAHORE: The Pakistan Chemical Manufacturers Association (PCMA) has officially announced that Pakistan Chemical Expo 2026, a flagship event of the chemical industry, will be held on June 5-6, 2026, at the Lahore Expo Centre. The event is set to showcase the immense potential of Pakistan’s chemical industry as a key driver of economic growth, industrial innovation, and global integration.
The announcement was made during a press conference held at Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) on Tuesday. Addressing the media, LCCI President Faheem-ur-Rehman Saigol, Chairman PCMA Haroon Ali Khan and Chairman Expo Committee Ans Mehmood outlined the vision, scope, and significance of the expo, emphasizing its role in strengthening Pakistan’s industrial landscape and enhancing the country’s competitiveness in global markets. They said Pakistan possesses the potential to achieve at least USD5 billion in import substitution and over USD2 billion in additional exports within the next five years through strategic investments, technology transfer, and development of a world-scale Naphtha Cracker and Petrochemical Complex.
Highlighting the sector’s economic significance, LCCI President Faheem-ur-Rehman Saigol said the chemical industry has the potential to significantly reduce Pakistan’s import dependence while enhancing export competitiveness. With strategic development and investment, the sector can become a cornerstone of sustainable economic growth.
PCMA Chief Haroon Ali Khan said the Pakistan Chemical Expo 2026 reflects PCMA’s commitment to positioning Pakistan as a competitive player in the global chemical economy. He pointed out that Pakistan’s chemical and petrochemical market exceeds USD 14 billion annually, while more than 50 percent of domestic demand is met through imports. The country imports approximately USD 14-15 billion worth of chemicals, petrochemicals, plastics, pharmaceutical intermediates and industrial raw materials every year, creating a significant drain on foreign exchange reserves.
Chairman Expo Committee Ans Mehmood said through this landmark event, the PCMA aims to attract international attention to Pakistan’s vast industrial potential while providing local manufacturers with direct access to new markets, advanced technologies, and strategic global partnerships. He pointed out that the Pakistan Chemical Expo 2026 promises to be the premier gathering of industry leaders and stakeholders, shaping the future of Pakistan’s chemical sector and reinforcing its role in the country’s economic transformation.
The two-day expo will feature B2B matchmaking sessions, product exhibitions, technical seminars, panel discussions, and policy dialogues, offering stakeholders valuable opportunities to explore emerging trends, technologies, and investment prospects.
