LAHORE: The Punjab Board of Technical Education (PBTE), Lahore, has successfully organised a placement drive for a multinational telecom company, marking a significant step forward in bridging the gap between technical education and employment.
A total of 160 candidates were shortlisted from across Punjab for positions as riggers and technicians in the initial recruitment phase.
Selected candidates will complete a three-month internship before being offered contractual employment, with company representatives highlighting strong career growth prospects — including opportunities for overseas placement.
The company’s delegation, led by Procurement Director Bob, met PBTE Chairman Dr Faisal Mehmood, who reaffirmed the board’s commitment to facilitating employment for diploma holders.
He noted that PBTE’s dedicated job portal is attracting hundreds of daily registrations. Both parties expressed intent to expand their cooperation, with shortlisted candidates expected to begin training soon.
