ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar on Friday said Pakistan’s victory in Marka-e-Haq would be “remembered for eternity,” asserting that the country succeeded simultaneously on the military, diplomatic and narrative fronts, enhancing its global standing.
Addressing a ceremony at Lok Virsa marking one year since the success of Marka-e-Haq, the minister said the achievement had elevated Pakistan’s prestige and demonstrated national unity, with the entire nation standing firmly alongside its armed forces.
He described Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos and Marka-e-Haq as turning points that “reshaped the course of history,” adding that the anniversary marked a moment of national pride granted “by the grace of Allah.”
Tarar highlighted the role of Pakistan’s leadership and armed forces, particularly Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, in devising and executing a strategy that ensured not only effective defence but also a decisive response. He claimed that Indian aircraft were downed during the confrontation and that Pakistan’s missile response had a significant psychological and strategic impact.
Referring to the Pahalgam incident, which he termed a “false flag operation,” the minister reiterated Pakistan’s call for an independent and transparent international investigation, maintaining that Islamabad had taken a clear and principled stance from the outset.
He drew a contrast between Pakistan and India, stating that Pakistan was among countries combating terrorism while India was involved in its promotion, adding that the international community increasingly recognized this distinction.
The minister said the success of Marka-e-Haq was not limited to the battlefield but extended to diplomatic and narrative domains, reinforcing Pakistan’s position globally.
He also praised the enthusiasm of young participants at the event, saying their spirit reflected a secure and confident future for the country. The ceremony, organized by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in collaboration with the Ministry of National Heritage and Culture, included tributes to martyrs and a candlelight vigil attended by officials and children.
