Meezan Bank, DCK partner to expand Shariah-compliant housing finance
KARACHI: Meezan Bank, Pakistan’s leading Islamic bank and one of the largest banks in the country, has entered into a strategic partnership with DHA City Karachi (DCK) to expand access to Shariah-compliant housing finance, formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The collaboration reflects a broader push by the Bank to address Pakistan’s housing demand through Islamic financing structures. Under the agreement, Meezan Bank will offer its flagship housing finance product to customers seeking to acquire residential property in DHA City Karachi, using fully Shariah-compliant, Riba-free models.
The MoU was signed by Zia Ul Hassan - Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Meezan Bank, along with Brigadier Muhammad Kashif Naeem, Administrator, DHA City Karachi, and Brigadier Malik Muneer Ejaz, Executive Director of Amenity & Services, DHA City Karachi.
Zia Ul Hassan emphasized the Bank’s focus on expanding practical applications of Islamic finance in the housing sector and said, “This partnership allows us to tailor financing solutions for a defined residential ecosystem while maintaining transparency and adherence to Shariah principles.”
“DHA City Karachi, a master-planned residential community offering high-quality housing, is positioning the partnership as a way to lower barriers to home ownership within its community. Access to financing remains a key constraint for many prospective homeowners,” said Brigadier Muhammad Kashif Naeem.
