SYDNEY: An Australian state premier said Thursday he took “responsibility” for failing to protect the victims of an antisemitic mass shooting at Bondi Beach in December.

“A state government’s highest responsibility is to protect its people, and on December 14 last year we didn’t do that. We take responsibility for that today,” New South Wales Premier Chris Minns told reporters.
