LAHORE: Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has sought a weekly progress report on the Punjab Development Program.

She has directed the Local Government Department to regularly submit detailed reports on ongoing projects in 51 cities.

Chairing a special video-link meeting, the Chief Minister also ordered that weekly progress reports be presented to monitor the advancement of Model Village projects.

It was briefed that development schemes are currently in progress across 51 cities under the Local Government and Community Development Department. The provision of essential machinery has been planned, including desilting machines, sectional machines, 45 jetting machines, and 100 dewatering sets to improve municipal services.

The Chief Minister further directed that waste containers and garbage drums must be kept clean on a permanent basis.

For the first time in Punjab, an HDPE pipeline lining plant will be installed, with work scheduled to commence from April 20. A similar plant will also be established in South Punjab.

During the meeting, a visual review of development projects underway in each tehsil was conducted through a project gallery, while a live dashboard presented comprehensive financial and physical progress reports of all projects.

The Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif stated that more projects have been completed in the past two years than were accomplished in five years previously. She emphasized that, following the early completion of WASA projects, full focus should be directed towards urban beautification initiatives.
