ISLAMABAD: In his message on Pakistan Day, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar underscored the country’s unwavering commitment to eradicating terrorism and paid tribute to the sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces.

Dar highlighted Pakistan’s ongoing actions against militant groups, noting that “the brave sons of the soil are sacrificing their lives” to secure peace and stability. He emphasized that these sacrifices are directed toward safeguarding the nation’s collective future.

He also drew attention to the plight of Kashmiris in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), acknowledging their “exceptional sacrifices” in pursuit of the right to self-determination. DPM/FN reiterated Pakistan’s pledge to continue extending moral and diplomatic support until that right is achieved.

Reflecting on the historical significance of March 23, Dar recalled the Pakistan Resolution of 1940, which laid the foundation for an independent homeland for Muslims of the Subcontinent. He praised the vision and resilience of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the countless sacrifices made during the Pakistan Movement.

Addressing current challenges, Dar acknowledged the economic and political strains caused by regional conflicts. He expressed confidence that Pakistan, guided by the principles of unity, faith, and discipline, would overcome these difficulties.

Extending greetings to Pakistanis abroad, Dar commended their patriotism and contributions, noting that they continue to represent the country with pride and play a vital role in shaping its future success.
