LAHORE: The Lahore Development Authority had decided to intensify the revenue generation campaign immediately after Ramadan.
“A recovery campaign should be accelerated to meet the targets in the last quarter of the year,” LDA DG Tahir Farooq said while chairing a meeting on revenue generation on Friday. In the meeting, the revenue targets for the current financial year were reviewed.
The meeting was attended by the Additional DG of Kachi Abadis, Chief Town Planner One, Chief Town Planner Two, Chief Metropolitan Planner, Director of Auction, Director of Revenue, and Director of LDA Avenue One.
On this occasion, the LDA has issued a notification for commercialisation of four key roads in the city: Barki Road, the Ring Road from BRB Canal, College Road from Ghazi Chowk to UET Roundabout, and Defence Road from Babhtian Chowk to Kahna. Additionally, GT Road from Quaid-e-Azam Interchange to BRB Canal will also be commercialised. While addressing the meeting, the DG LDA emphasised the importance of early revenue recovery from these newly commercialised roads.
During the meeting, the Director of Auction provided a briefing on the proposed auction scheduled for April. The LDA DG directed all town planning officers to engage directly in the field with a comprehensive strategy and to submit regular progress reports on revenue generation.
