LHC refers Basant plea to CS

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court referred a petition of a citizen, Ashba Kamran, to the chief secretary seeking permission for basant in other cities also.

The court directed the chief secretary to hear the petitioner and decide her presentation within two months. The court also directed the chief secretary to inform the court about the decision taken through deputy registrar judicial. The petitioner contended in her petition that the government allowed basant for the residents of Lahore only. She said it was a discriminatory decision depriving other citizens to enjoy basant. She, therefore, asked the court to direct the government to allow basant to residents of the other cities also.
