LAHORE: The newly constituted Board of Governors (BoG) of the University of Health Sciences (UHS) at its 63rd meeting on Wednesday elected former senior bureaucrat Farkhanda Wasim Afzal as its chairperson.
She will head the university’s seventh BoG. She retired in Grade 22 as Director General of the Civil Services Academy. She holds a master’s degree in Economics from University of the Punjab and a master’s in Management Sciences from University of Cambridge. Board members congratulated her following her election and expressed confidence in her leadership.
The meeting was attended by Justice Sheikh Ahmad Farooq (retd), Ms Shahnaz Sardar, Prof Dr Saeed Shafqat and Capt Zahid Saeed (retd).
During the session, Prof Dr Nadia Naseem briefed the board on the university’s administrative and academic affairs. Members expressed their resolve to work together for the university’s sustained progress and stability.
