KARACHI: The benchmark indices at the Pakistan Stock Exchange staged a firm recovery on Friday, with broad-based buying lifting the market after a volatile session, as investors cherry-picked stocks across banking, oil and gas, and select industrial counters.

The index moved within a wide intraday range, touching a high of 174,148.33 points and a low of 169,592.53 points, reflecting early pressure followed by sustained buying that helped the market settle comfortably in positive territory.
