ISLAMABAD: In a major counter-terrorism development, Pakistan’s security forces neutralised four Indian-sponsored terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Lakki Marwat district late Wednesday night, reaffirming the state’s resolve to dismantle foreign-backed militant networks.
According to ISPR, the operation was conducted on the night of 18/19 February 2026 on credible intelligence regarding the presence of khwarij belonging to the Indian proxy outfit Fitna al Khwarij. During the operation, security forces effectively engaged the terrorist hideout, resulting in an intense exchange of fire in which four khwarij were killed.
Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the slain militants, who, ISPR said, were actively involved in multiple terrorist activities in the area.
ISPR added that sanitisation operations are ongoing to eliminate any remaining Indian-sponsored terrorists in the vicinity. The military reiterated that Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue their relentless counter-terrorism campaign under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam,” approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, to eradicate the menace of foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
