Legal, judicial domains: Pakistan, Portugal agree to enhance cooperation

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Portugal agreed to enhance cooperation in the legal and judicial domains.

Federal Minister for Law and Justice, Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, met with Manuel Frederico Pinheiro da Silva, High Commissioner of Portugal to Pakistan. Both sides discussed prospects for enhanced collaboration in the justice sector, including judicial training, institutional reforms, and capacity-building initiatives.

During the meeting, the High Commissioner remarked that every day he spent in Pakistan was memorable and enriching. He expressed deep admiration for the breathtaking beauty of Gilgit-Baltistan and the northern regions, describing them as “heaven on earth.” He also appreciated Pakistan’s vibrant culture and the warmth and hospitality of its people, terming them truly unique.

The Federal Minister lauded the High Commissioner’s diplomatic services and constructive cooperation during his tenure in Pakistan. He acknowledged the positive role played by the High Commissioner in strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries.
