KARACHI: Mehran Commercial Enterprises (MCE) hosted a significant bilateral meeting at its Korangi Creek offices, bringing together Pakistani business leaders and Indonesian diplomatic representation to explore avenues for strengthening trade collaboration, with a particular focus on small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

The meeting was graced by Mudazakir, Consul General of Indonesia in Karachi, who engaged in detailed discussions with MCE leadership and stakeholders on unlocking the untapped potential of Pakistani SMEs for the Indonesian market and beyond.

Mashood Khan from MCE highlighted the government-backed SME clusters operating across Pakistan, drawing attention to their considerable potential in key sectors including engineering, cutlery, knife hunting, surgical instruments, sports goods, and micro women’s products.

He stressed that these clusters represent a ready foundation for joint growth and called for structured bilateral cooperation to bring Pakistani SME products to international markets, including Indonesia.

Khan also placed special emphasis on Sindh’s microfiber project, presenting it as a promising area for collaboration that could benefit both countries and generate meaningful economic activity at the grassroots level.

Indonesian consul general responded positively to the proposals, expressing his willingness to actively promote SME collaboration between the two nations and endorsing the idea of bilateral trade as a practical pathway forward.

He announced that he would visit the Super Highway industrial area after Eid to meet directly with SMEs operating there and assess opportunities for deeper cooperation on the ground.

Later, the Consul General presented a memento to Ghazanfar Khan, Executive Director of MCE, acknowledging the organization’s role in fostering cordial and productive ties between the two countries.
