ISLAMABAD: The federal government implemented a price increase of up to Rs 7.32 per litre on petroleum products. This adjustment reflects the total impact of fluctuating global oil prices, though the petroleum levy rate remains stable at its previous level.
The government kept petroleum levy unchanged at Rs 84.40 per litre on petrol and Rs 76.21 per lire on high speed diesel (HSD) for current fortnight ending on February 28. In addition to this, CSL is also being charged at Rs 2.50 per litre.
Petroleum Division announced a hike in petrol price by Rs 5 per litre and HSD by Rs 7.32 per litre.

According to the documents, the government partially offset the rise in ex-refinery prices by reducing the exchange rate adjustment, petroleum dealer margins but slight increase in the Inland Freight Equalization Margin (IFEM).
Ex-refinery includes average of platts with incidentals & duty on petrol was increased by Rs 5.09 per litre from Rs 141.03 to Rs 146.12 per litre, however some impact has seen in exchange rate reduction of 16 paisa from 57 to 41 paisa and IFEM increased by 0.07 paisa from Rs 8.16 to Rs 8.23 per litre.
The ex-refinery price for HSD has risen by Rs 7.55 per litre.
