ISLAMABAD: Incarcerated former Prime Minister Imran Khan spoke to his two sons – Kasim and Suleman – for around 20 minutes on Saturday after the Supreme Court directed that he be allowed contact with his sons and ordered a medical examination into reported deterioration in his eyesight.
In a post on X, Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, said the conversation took place in compliance with instructions issued by Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi.
“We can confirm that he was able to speak with them for approximately 20 minutes,” she wrote, adding that Imran Khan was extremely happy to hear their voices after such a long time.

On Thursday, the Supreme Court directed the formation of a medical team to examine the former premier after his counsel, Salman Safdar, submitted a report claiming Khan had lost 85 per cent of the vision in his right eye. The court also ordered that he be allowed to speak to his children. In her post on X, Aleema Khan further said the family was awaiting his urgent medical treatment at Shifa International Hospital, Islamabad under the supervision of his ‘personal physicians’, where specialist doctors would assess his condition and attempt to restore his eyesight.
