Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori annulled a Provincial Ombudsman’s order to remove Moonis Alvi, Chief Executive Officer of K-Electric Limited (KE), from his post over alleged involvement in a case pertaining to workplace harassment.

The utility announced the development in a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Tuesday.

“We would like to inform that the Hon’ble Governor of Sindh, in exercise of the powers conferred under Section 9 of the Protection against Harassment of Women at the Workplace Act, 2010 (as amended from time to time), after hearing the arguments of the concerned parties and reviewing the relevant records, has issued the decision and has set aside the impugned Order passed by the Provincial Ombudsman, Sindh, dated July 31, 2025,” the notice read.

In July 2025, Sindh Ombudsman ordered to remove Syed Moonis Alvi from his position of K-Electric’s CEO, over his alleged involvement in a case pertaining to workplace harassment. Alvi termed the ombudsman’s decision “deeply distressing” for him, saying the findings did not reflect the truth of the situation as he experienced it.

The Sindh High Court (SHC) suspended the Ombudsman’s order within a day.

Alvi later filed a Representation (Appeal) against the Ombudsman’s order before the office of the Governor of Sindh.

“Alhamdullilah, good to see this chapter coming to a rightful close. Grateful to all my family and friends who stood by me during this time,” KE CEO wrote in a post on X while reacting to the governor decision.
