ISLAMABAD: Field Marshal Khalifa Abu-al-Qasim Haftar, Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces, along with Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Haftar, called on Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, at General Headquarters on Sunday, the ISPR said.
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, with a particular focus on regional security dynamics and avenues for professional military cooperation. Both delegations underscored the importance of sustained engagement and collaboration between the armed forces of Pakistan and Libya.
Field Marshal Asim Munir welcomed the visiting delegation and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Libya. He emphasised Pakistan’s support for peace, stability, and institutional development in Libya.The interaction was described as cordial and constructive, reflecting longstanding friendly ties between the two countries.
Earlier, on arrival at Noor Khan Airbase, Field Marshal Haftar was received by the COAS. The visiting dignitary also paid homage to the martyrs and laid a wreath at the martyrs’ memorial at GHQ.
