DG ISPR visits Turbat University: Students cautioned against negative narratives
RAWALPINDI: Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General (DG) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry visited the University of Turbat and held an interactive session with faculty members, administrative officers, and students, focusing on education, national security, and contemporary challenges.
On arrival, the DG ISPR was received by Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Gul Hassan and Pro Vice Chancellor Dr Kamal.
During a meeting at the Vice Chancellor’s Secretariat, the VC briefed him on the university’s academic and research achievements, infrastructure development, financial challenges, and plans.
He also highlighted the constructive role played by University of Turbat graduates in national development. Possibilities of semester exchange programmes with national and international universities were also discussed.
Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry appreciated the rapid progress made by the university in a short span and assured full support for its further development. He expressed his commitment to promoting collaboration among universities across Pakistan, particularly in education and research.Addressing faculty and students in a special session, the DG ISPR spoke on the role of the Pakistan Army, students, and teachers in ensuring national security, while also discussing prevailing global and domestic challenges.
He cautioned against misleading propaganda and negative narratives spread through social media, emphasizing their adverse impact on national cohesion. Urging students to reject despair-based narratives, he encouraged them to focus on education and constructive engagement.
He reiterated that such dialogue with educational institutions plays a vital role in boosting youth confidence. The DG ISPR also planted a tree on campus, while the Vice Chancellor thanked him for the visit.
