ISLAMABAD: The Directorate General of Customs Valuation, Karachi, has fixed new customs values for the import of uncoated offset paper for writing, printing, and photocopying from Brazil.

The directorate has made an addendum to Valuation Ruling No.2027/2025 in terms of Section 21 of the General ClausesAct.l897 read with sub-section 4 of Section 25A and Section 206 of the Customs Act 1969.

Earlier, the Customs values of Uncoated Offset Paper for Writing, Printing, and Photocopying were determined under Section 25A of the Customs Act, 1969 vide Valuation Ruling No1802/2023 dated 12.09.2023.

Various stakeholders approached the Directorate General of Customs Valuation, Karachi, with a request that the existing valuation ruling is more than two years old and should be revised in the light of current international market values.

Accordingly, the Directorate initiated an exercise for re-determination of the values of the items covered under the aforementioned valuation and publication rulings.

In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 2l of the General Clauses Act, 1897, read with sub-section 4 of Section 25A and Section 206 of the Customs Act, 1969, the insertion is made after SNo l0 of Para 5 of Valuation Ruling No 2027/2025.

The values were fixed under the ruling of 2025, which has now been amended by the directorate to include paper imported from Brazil.
