ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Monday held separate conversations with the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia and Egypt on the latest regional developments, aiming to build mutual understanding on key multilateral issues.
According a statement issued by the Foreign Office, Ishaq Dar spoke with Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, and discussed regional developments and avenues for deeper bilateral cooperation.
In another statement, the Foreign Office said that Ishaq Dar and Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr Badr Abdelatty emphasized the importance of continued dialogue and cooperation, and agreed to meet on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos.
Ishaq Dar’s separate telephonic talks with his Saudi and Egyptian counterparts came after US President Donald Trump’s formal invitation to dozens of heads of state and government, including Pakistan, to join the proposed “Board of Peace” for post-war Gaza.

The recently established Palestinian committee of technocrats—intended to govern Gaza—held its first meeting in Cairo.
The meeting was reportedly attended by Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law, who has for months partnered with US Envoy Steve Witkoff on efforts to ensure peace in Gaza, disarm Hamas, and oversee the reconstruction of the territory, which lies in ruins after more than two years of Israeli bombardment.
