KARACHI: Several economically disadvantaged families have moved closer to lasting self-reliance as Saylani Welfare International Trust expanded its Self-Employment Scheme, enabling deserving individuals to launch small businesses of their own.

Timed ahead of Ramadan, the initiative focuses on providing dignified livelihood opportunities and helping underprivileged households build sustainable sources of income rather than relying on short-term assistance.

In this regard, a ceremony was organized at the Saylani Super Highway Logistic Hub, where families burdened by financial hardship departed with smiles and heartfelt prayers for Saylani. The event was attended by Head of Saylani Education Board Afzal Chamria, Trustee Abu Faisal, Welfare Department Head Javed Qadri, Head of Saylani CSR Furqan Aslam, along with other distinguished guests.

On the occasion Chairman of Taj Gasoline, Aslam Sheikh, as chief guest advised the beneficiaries to work diligently and strive to expand their small businesses so that they may one day support other needy families. Praising Saylani’s efforts, he stated that he felt deeply satisfied to see assistance reaching the truly deserving after thorough scrutiny.

Founder and Chairman of Saylani Welfare International Trust, Maulana Muhammad Bashir Farooqi, expressed his gratitude to Aslam Sheikh and stated that under Saylani’s system, continuous monitoring is carried out even after assistance is provided to ensure that the businesses remain operational.

He said that all beneficiary families are now part of the Saylani network, and their joys and sorrows are shared by Saylani.

It is noteworthy that under the Self-Employment Scheme, biryani stalls, jockey machines, burger shops, popcorn stalls, fruit and confectionery carts, and sewing machines for women were distributed among deserving families.
