Threats to national security: CDF explains army’s zero-tolerance policy

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Army Chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has said the Pakistan Army maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward any threat to national security, reaffirming the armed forces’ commitment to safeguarding the country’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and internal stability.

In an address to officers during a visit to the Lahore Garrison on Thursday, the chief of defence forces underscored the Pakistan Army’s zero-tolerance policy against threats to national security and highlighted the institution’s resolve to confront challenges with focus, professionalism and determination.

During the visit, Field Marshal Asim Munir was given a detailed briefing on the force’s operational readiness, training standards and measures being taken to enhance combat capabilities, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The military’s media wing said the COAS received a comprehensive overview of the formation’s operational and war preparedness, including updates on training standards, the use of modern technologies and improvements in military infrastructure.

Field Marshal Asim Munir also observed a specialised field training exercise showcasing the latest technologies and contemporary combat tactics, underscoring the army’s emphasis on innovation and adaptability to match the dynamic future battlefield.

He praised the professionalism, morale and dedication of officers and soldiers taking part in the exercise.

Addressing troops and officers, the Field Marshal said the armed forces remain fully prepared to counter evolving challenges, stressing that any threat to national security would be dealt with without compromise.

He added that a culture of high standards, discipline and selfless national service was being further strengthened across the armed forces.

During the visit, he also reviewed sports and recreational facilities provided to troops, describing them as essential for maintaining physical fitness, morale and overall well-being.

Field Marshal Asim Munir later visited the High Care Centre at CMH Lahore, where he lauded the efforts of medical staff and management, noting that the facility is equipped with state-of-the-art medical services.

Earlier, upon his arrival at Lahore Garrison, Field Marshal Munir was received by the Commander Lahore Corps, marking the beginning of the high-level inspection and engagements at the formation.
