LAHORE: The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has recovered more than Rs1.67 billion in outstanding dues from 43,093 defaulters during the period from July 1 to December 31, 2025.
According to figures released by LESCO, the recoveries were made as part of a zero-tolerance policy of the government against electricity theft and non-payment with enforcement actions carried out across all operational circles. The Kasur Circle recorded the highest recovery, collecting Rs635.77 million from 21,695 defaulters, followed by the Central Circle with Rs331.81 million and the Eastern Circle with Rs300.12 million. Other recoveries included Rs119.03 million in the Northern Circle, Rs93.89 million in the Okara Circle, Rs70.84 million in the Sheikhupura Circle, Rs66.52 million in the Southern Circle, and Rs52.22 million in the Nankana Circle.
The LESCO officials said the operations were conducted with the assistance of DISCOs Support Units, comprising personnel from the police, Rangers, and district administration. Chief Executive Officer LESCO, Engr Ramzan Butt, announced that action against defaulters would continue without discrimination. He also urged consumers to pay their electricity bills on time to help reduce financial pressure on the power system and ensure smooth electricity transmission and supply.
