ISLAMABAD: Audit officials informed the sub-committee of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on Tues-day that the management of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) procured “illegal” thermal scanners.
PAC Convener Syed Naveed Qamar convened a meeting of the sub-committee, which conducted a detailed review of audit objections concerning the NDMA spanning from the fiscal years 2011-12 to 2023-24.
The audit objection regarding the alleged irregular procurement of thermal scanners was brought under discussion, prompting the committee to direct a formal inquiry into the matter.
Convener Syed Naveed Qamar emphasised the need for further investigations to ensure all facts are brought to light. He stated that uncovering the truth is essential.
