KARACHI: Gold prices slumped while silver saw a sizeable fall on Tuesday, depicting an international market’s decline, traders said.

Meeting with a mammoth recession of Rs10,700 and Rs9,174, local gold prices plunged to Rs459,462 per tola and Rs393,914 per 10 grams, respectively, according to All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association.

Sending ripples across the world, international gold bullion value dropped by USD107, hitting USD4,371 per ounce while silver prices reached USD75 per ounce after reducing by USD1.45, it added.

Mirroring a downtrend in the global market, domestic silver prices slid by Rs145 and Rs125, settling at Rs7,930 per tola and Rs6,798 per 10 grams, respectively, according to the association.

It is worth noting that the open market may trade gold and silver at prices differing those officially established by the association.
