Peshawar Zalmi skipper Darren Sammy, has admitted that his side has not played to their full potential in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL), and that’s the reason they lag behind at the points table.
The Zalmi’s lost to Islamabad United last night, after the team failed to reach the target of 183 runs, felling short by 26 runs.
“We have put ourselves in this position.. this year we still have a chance but we have to take more responsibility when we are batting and bowling and at the end of the day if we do that and we don’t come victorious then we know their team was better than us, but so far we have not played our best cricket and that’s why we are number five,” said Sammy, at the post match conference.
The Zalmi captain praised fellow United’s skipper Misbah ul Haq calling him ‘a great captain,’ “Misbah is a great captain and that is why he is Pakistan's most successful captain.”
Sammy was of the view that his side needs to work on a number of areas, such as handling pressure more sensibly, forming partnerships and batting responsibility, but was optimistic that his side would get back to winning ways, if they execute their plans.
Peshawar would take on Quetta Gladiators tonight (Saturday) at Dubai.
