ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Wednesday reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to deepening ties with Iran and strengthening cooperation across priority sectors through sustained diplomatic and institutional engagement.
Dar said this while chairing an inter-ministerial meeting on Pakistan–Iran relations, which reviewed the current state of bilateral cooperation and discussed ways to expand economic and trade ties. The meeting explored new avenues for collaboration in areas of mutual interest, with a particular focus on enhancing economic connectivity and commercial engagement.
The participants emphasized the need for close coordination among relevant ministries to ensure that diplomatic engagement is effectively translated into concrete and measurable outcomes. Senator Dar stressed that stronger institutional linkages would help advance shared objectives and deliver practical results.
The meeting was attended by the Minister for Petroleum, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa, Secretary Petroleum, and senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other concerned ministries.
