GovTech 2025 report: Shaza Fatima prominently featured in GovInsider’s Women
ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja has been prominently featured in GovInsider’s Women in GovTech 2025 report, which highlights 100 women innovators from 29 countries shaping digital government services around the world.
The annual report, themed “How inclusive tech builds trust for all,” serves as a global blueprint for operationalising inclusive digital governance.
The Women in GovTech 2025 report underscores that delivering digital public services that work for everyone requires leadership that prioritizes inclusion, trust-building, and practical impact. It celebrates trailblazers who are not only advancing technology but also reshaping how governments connect with citizens.
In her GovInsider profile, Minister Khawaja articulates a strategic approach to inclusive technology and policy that places the needs of disadvantaged and underserved communities at the core of digital transformation efforts. She explained that Pakistan’s digital strategies are rooted in qualitative, on-the-ground data, user persona mapping, and continuous measurement of outreach metrics, such as household connectivity, gender uptake, disability accommodation, and affordability.
Minister Khawaja also shared a personal account of how rural internet connectivity transformed education in Gokina Village, enabling teachers to livestream lessons, access curricula, and open pathways for girls to pursue advanced studies, illustrating the tangible benefits of connectivity for marginalized populations.
