Corruption charges: Senate Secretariat directs FBR to submit details of taxmen
ISLAMABAD: The Senate Secretariat has directed the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to submit details of tax officers against whom complaints of corruption were received since July 2023.
According to the FBR’s instructions issued to all Chief Commissioners/Directors General Inland Revenue, Senator Talha Mahmood has moved the following Starred Questions:
“Will the Minister for Finance and Revenue be pleased to state:
‘Corruption not declining, but rising’: Senate panel endorses IMF report
(a) “What are the details of complaints which were received against the officials and officers of various wings, directorates and officials of the FBR.
(b) “What are the names and designations of the officers and officials against whom complaints were received and what action was taken against each of them?”
All Chief Commissioners/Directors General IR are therefore requested that the above information in respect of employees (BS 1-16 including Time Scale 17), may be forwarded to the Board latest by December 16, 2025 positively for timely submission to Senate Secretariat, the FBR added.
