ISLAMABAD: President of the Quetta Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI) Haji Muhammad Ayoob Maryani has said the Chamber will continue to play its role as a bridge between federal and provincial institutions and the business community.
He emphasised that the Chamber believes in practical measures rather than mere claims and urged the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) to ensure easy loan facilities for the province’s business community, particularly women, under small and medium enterprise (SME) schemes.
He expressed these views while addressing participants at an event on the “Financial Leakages Forum for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises” held here on Wednesday. Representatives from a bank, including Parvez Sheikh, Hafeezullah Jogezai, Sanaullah Durrani, Agha Gul Khilji, Syed Ahad Agha and others also spoke on the occasion.
Maryani praised the role of women in Balochistan’s tribal society, particularly those contributing to the business sector. He reiterated the Chamber’s commitment to resolving the challenges faced by the business community across the province, especially women entrepreneurs, through concrete and result-oriented steps.
He added that he has already taken up the issue with the federal commerce minister, the FBR chairman, State Bank officials and other authorities.
Despite the fact that Balochistan currently has a zero default rate, banks are still reluctant to issue loans to the business community, which he termed disappointing. He urged women to step forward and explore opportunities in business, assuring them that the Chamber would extend full support to connect them with national and international markets.
Maryani said Balochistan is a land of immense potential, but lack of support and limited opportunities have hindered progress. The Chamber, he said, will continue to serve as a bridge between the business community and government institutions.
Speaking at the event, Agha Gul Khilji said he would continue efforts to persuade State Bank officials to provide interest-free and easy-term loans to the business community in Balochistan, especially women entrepreneurs.
