Sri Lanka shares extend rise on broad gains

Sri Lankan shares closed higher on Wednesday, supported by gains across sectors.
The CSE All Share index settled up 1.76% to 22,422.43. They have risen 4.3% so far this week.
All sectors advanced on the day. Industrial Asphalts and Colombo Dockyard were the top two percentage gainers on the CSE All Share, rising 25% each.
Trading volume on the CSE All Share index jumped to 185 million shares from 105.8 million in the previous session.
The equity market’s turnover surged to 6.22 billion Sri Lankan rupees ($20.2 million) from 3.88 billion rupees in the previous session, according to exchange data.
Foreign investors were net sellers, offloading stocks worth 668.5 million rupees, while domestic investors were net buyers, purchasing shares worth 6.10 billion rupees, the data showed.
