Nine terrorists killed in two separate Khyber Pakhtunkhwa engagements: ISPR

Security forces have killed at least nine terrorists belonging to the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) alias Khwarij in two separate engagements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Lakki Marwat and Tank districts, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Saturday.

The military’s media wing said the terrorists belonging to the Indian Proxy Fitna Al Khwarij were wiped out on December 5.

“On reported presence of Khwarij, an intelligence based operation was conducted by the security forces in Tank district. During the conduct of operation, own troops effectively engaged the Khwarij location and after an intense fire exchange, seven khwarij were sent to hell,” the ISPR said.

Another intelligence based operation was conducted in Lakki Marwat district. In ensuing fire exchange, two more khwarij were effectively neutralised by the security forces, it maintained.

The ISPR said: “Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from killed Indian sponsored Khwarij, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against the security forces, law enforcement agencies and target killing of innocent civilians.”

Sanitisation operations were being conducted to eliminate any other Indian sponsored Kharji found in the area as relentless counter terrorism campaign under vision “Azm e Istehkam” (as approved by the Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan) by security forces and law enforcement agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out menace of foreign sponsored and supported terrorism from the country, it said.

President, PM laud security forces

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the security forces for the successful operations against the terrorists.

President Zardari in a statement said the terrorists were active with Indian backing in Tank and Lakki Marwat.

He praised the timely and effective action of the security forces for the killing of nine Khawarij.

Zardari paid tribute to the sacrifices of the martyrs and veterans, stating that by the grace of Allah, the resolve of the nation and the forces will continue until this menace is completely eliminated.

The president lauded the morale of the forces for foiling the nefarious designs of Fitna Al Khawarij, which he stated was operating under Indian patronage.

PM Shehbaz in his statement appreciated the security forces for eliminating nine terrorists of Fitna Al Khawarij in these operations.

The premier stated: “Under the vision of ‘Azm-e-Istehkam’, security forces are achieving great successes against terrorism.”

“The entire nation stands with the armed forces of Pakistan in this war against terrorism,” said the PM.

He said the nation was determined to completely eliminate all forms of terrorism from the country.
