KARACHI: Light rain and snowfall over the mountains are expected in the northern areas of Pakistan on December 5, according to the Met Office. A shallow westerly wave is likely to affect the region until December 5, 2025.
Under the influence of this system, mostly cloudy weather is forecast, with light rain and mountain snowfall expected at isolated places in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla and Battagram, during the night of December 4 and on December 5.
Cold and dry weather is likely to continue in other parts of the country. Smoggy and foggy conditions are expected in several plain areas of Punjab, including Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Jhelum, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Multan, Khanewal, Layyah, Kot Addu and Bahawalpur, as well as in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa such as Peshawar, Swabi, Mardan and DI Khan, especially during the night and morning hours.
